Elevator Synchronous Geared Traction Machine
A synchronous geared traction machine is an electric motor that uses synchronous motors and gear mechanisms to provide traction for elevators. The motor has a permanent magnet rotor that rotates at the same speed as the AC power supply. The stator, on the other hand, is a three-phase winding assembly that creates a rotating magnetic field that interacts with the permanent magnet rotor to produce torque. The traction machine is connected to the elevator car via a hoisting rope, which provides the mechanical force needed to move the car. A gear mechanism converts the rotary motion into linear motion, which moves the elevator up or down.
