TENORES DI BITTI is the famous vocal quartet from Sardinia featuring Omar Bandinu (bassu), Marco Serra (contra), Dino Ruiu (oche) and Bachisio Pira (mesu oche), Tenores Di Bitti "Mialinu Pira" represent the "canti" tradition of their country. An oral tradition passed down over thousands of years, their heavily onomatopoeic vocalizing attempts to recreate the aura of their native pastures and landscape. Different styles include religious songs (cantos religiosos), the evils committed by men (isterrita) and effusive dance songs (ballu lestru).
