In 2013, they founded the business under the name Tom's Services, but with Lauren's suggestion, they changed it to Tom the Toolman Tyler - paying homage to the beloved 90s sitcom, Home Improvement. As Tom's passion for home improvement and renovation grew, he gradually added like-minded people to the team, and with their help, he built the thriving company that we know today. Prior to starting Tom the Toolman Tyler, Tom had a successful career in the automotive industry. But his love for remodeling and renovation led him to turn his passion into a full-time business. As a husband and proud father of two girls living in Wethersfield, Connecticut, Tom was committed to building a name for himself. He started his business career by utilizing his free time and converting a one-story ranch into a two-floor home with an in-house theater and two additional rooms. Tom's dedication to excellence led him to assemble an exemplary crew with similar passions. Together, they've performed all kinds of home renovation and building services, from plumbing, framing, electrical, heating, and roofing to finish carpentry and designing custom kitchen cabinets. They've installed all types of flooring, including carpet, tile, laminate, sheet vinyl, and have experience in painting and building major additions on many homes.
