Who am I?
I am an experienced, specialist employment and commercial solicitor providing advice for employers and employees. More information can be found on the “about me” section of my site.
Where am I?
I work from my offices in North West Leicestershire and whilst I service my local area of Ashby de la Zouch, Loughborough, Nottingham, Derby and surrounding areas, I have many clients countrywide; distance is not a problem.
I work as an independent consultant to the firms shown below. My colleagues at the firms for which I work specialise in most areas of law, including commercial, litigation, property, planning, contract, international trade, and private client services for business owners. We often work together to provide an all-round service for businesses.
What do I do and why should you use my services?
For employers: I act as a cost effective “go to” resource for employers of all sizes, from new start-ups to large multinational organisations. I also act for overseas organisations which have operations in England. I am happy to work either as an employer’s sole resource for HR and employment law matters, or to assist your existing HR function with more unusual, complex or litigious matters.
My services for employers include: settlement agreements, contracts, policies, staff handbooks, crisis management, redundancy, disciplinary, dismissal, grievance handling, sickness absence, performance issues, TUPE, business sale and purchase, recruitment, general HR issues, defending claims at tribunal, contractual claims.
I can work either on a “pay as you go” basis, or on a monthly fixed retainer. This can be confined to your employment law requirements, or combined with commercial expertise to form an individually-tailored “virtual in-house lawyer” package. I am able to keep my overheads low, so my employer clients get advice from an experienced lawyer at a very competitive rate.
I am not constrained by office hours and can advise employer clients at a time to suit them. This is particularly helpful for employers whose premises make confidential conversations difficult during normal working hours, or who have “round the clock” or international operations.

For employees: I have an excellent track record of advising individuals on employment law issues and problems. I am experienced in helping employees with settlement (formerly compromise) agreements, not only locally in Ashby de la Zouch, Nottingham, Loughborough and Derby, but countrywide. Very often, I am able to negotiate a better settlement than is first offered.
