My name is Rodney Shenk.

 

Throughout my 20’s, I was a full-time musician.

In 1996, when I was 30, I was talking to some longtime friends of mine who owned an established family-oriented gutter company in the area. On a whim, I asked if I could do a day’s worth of unskilled work — clean the shop, etc. That “one day” grew into a new career.

At the close of that day, they asked if I’d stay on and train as an installer. I accepted their offer, and began burning the candle at both ends (still playing music 5 nights a week). In the several years that followed, one thing led to another, and I found myself managing the company.


In 2003, I was recruited by a full-service aluminum company to manage their gutter and soffit departments.

A year later, in 2004, I was recruited by another full-service aluminum company into a top-level management position.

Another year later, in 2005, after growing frustrated by the transient nature and the lack of character and work ethic in the available workforce, I longed for a family-oriented business like the one I’d cut my teeth on — where everyone takes pride in their own workmanship. So, I gave my resignation, left on good terms, and started Shenk Seamless Gutters.

When you call Shenk Seamless Gutters, my daughter-in-law, Monica, answers the phone (or returns your call if she’s unavailable). She handles all the scheduling. You’ll be happy to work with her!

When you call for an estimate, Monica will schedule a time for me to measure up your home. It doesn't take me long, then I'm on my way. I'll put together the detailed estimate at my office, and email it to you. No high-pressure sales tactics here! I’m genuinely focused on solutions you *need*, not on what I might be able to sell you.

My son, Kyl (Monica’s husband), manages the installation crew. Kyl is an extremely talented guy, who excels at whatever he builds. He’s genuinely concerned with good workmanship; he’ll make sure you’re satisfied with our work.
