This website shares information about our use of NCE and RR-Cirkits DCC hardware and the JMRI software to make the HO scale Quaker Valley Railroad come to life in periodic operating sessions. It also links to pages which document use of Car Cards and Waybills for model railroaders. I also provide some information on aggregate shipping on the prototype.

How long have you been using JMRI?

I started using JMRI in 2003 after finding Nick Kulp’s CTC panel online.

Why did you choose Conrail and the Quaker Valley as your modeled railroads?

I was working for Excelsior Truck Leasing, a Penn Central subsidiary from 1973 to 1978 when Conrail was born. I enjoyed seeing the wide variety of paint schemes in the early years, but also wanted the freedom to explore other equipment so created the Quaker Valley shortline.
