ProHockeyNews has covered the chaos in the regional sport networks (RSN) over the last year. On Tuesday night, 18 of the RSNs were blacked out at 11:59 PM. That included Game 5 of the opening round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Predators in Nashville. The blackout was the result of a dispute between Diamond Sports Group, (DSG) and  Bally Sports, which operates under DSG. In Edmonton, the Oilers held off the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night for a 4-3 win in Game 5, and a 4-1 series win. Reign notch win in Game 1 vs. Canucks

The Ontario Reign opened their Pacific Division semifinal series with a 3-1 win over Abbotsford at Toyota Arena on Wednesday night. The Reign lead the best-of-five series, one game to none, and will host Game 2 on Sunday. Rookie Erik Portillo made 23 saves for his third consecutive win to open the postseason. T.J. PWHL Toronto clinches first place

TORONTO, ON  – Toronto defeated Minnesota 4-1 at Mattamy Athletic Centre on Wednesday, securing first place in the PWHL standings heading into the playoffs. With the victory, Toronto will be able to choose to play either the third or fourth place team in the first round of the playoffs— once final standings have been determined.
