Questions we often get from international students

The following brief summary addresses many of the questions we get from international students.

Please feel welcome to contact our friendly team on our 'Enquire Now' webpage with any questions you might have.

Linthorpe Hall has been very popular with international students for the following reasons:

  • Teesside University campus is only 200 metres from Linthorpe Hall.
  • You can request your room to be in a flat of only students from your country if you prefer.
  • You can buy all the food that you need in the Tesco and Iceland food shops located within 50 metres from Linthorpe Hall.
  • There are also several international food shops within 100-200 metres from Linthorpe Hall entrance.
  • Linthorpe Hall offers the best value pricing! You get the 24/7 safety of a student hall and the convenience of your own en-suite bedroom at a better price than a lot of ordinary student housing in Middlesbrough.

Our friendly management have many years of experience of helping international students to easily settle in upon your arrival in Middlesbrough and ensuring that you will have a safe and comfortable stay in Linthorpe Hall.

Please visit our International Students webpage for more info why Linthorpe Hall is the best choice for Teesside University's international students.

Can me and my friends book an apartment together?

Yes you can!

Ideally, let us know prior to making your booking and we will make sure to assign you all to the same flat.

If you find out after making your booking that some of your friends will be also moving to Linthorpe Hall, you can still request at a later date for us to move you all into the same flat.

Our flats (apartments) range from four to six rooms per flat, and we often have two or more friends requesting to move into a flat together.

Besides students who come as part of a group, we also have many students who book as individuals.

Among the many other advantages of our accommodation, Linthorpe Hall is a great place to meet other students and make new friends.

View our ‘Booking Information’ webpage for details about our simple booking process, our holding deposit to secure your room, our contracts, etc.

Do you provide single room accommodation as well?

Yes.

Linthorpe Hall is a great choice for individual students, as well as for existing groups.

Unlike a typical student house, all of our bedrooms are equipped with a private en-suite bathroom, so you will have a lot of flexibility in how much you want to interact with your other flat mates on any given day.

Our flats range from four to six individual rooms per flat.

If you have a preference for a flat with either more or fewer tenants, let us know and we will endeavour to accommodate you according to your preference, subject to availability of a suitable flat.

Sometimes we have an empty flat, so you could, at least temporarily, have your room and the kitchen area all to yourself.

Feel welcome to ask our friendly management team at Linthorpe Hall for help with choosing your ideal student accommodation options.

Please visit our 'Living With Us - Who Do We Accommodate' webpage for more details.

Do you provide studio accommodation?

Although we no longer provide studios after our 2021 renovations, it is worth noting that, compared to private houses, our en-suite apartments provide a high degree of privacy to our tenants.

All of our rooms being en-suite means that each tenant has their own private bathroom which they don’t have to share with anyone, unlike in a typical house where all students having to share one bathroom in the mornings is often a cause of stress and inconvenience. That is why all rooms in purpose-built student accommodation have a private bathroom.

For those who were looking for a studio for privacy reasons, do get in touch with our residential coordinators on 07495419184 as we sometimes do have our smaller 4 bedroom flats fully available and it would be possible for you to have a room in one of these flats on your own, which would mean that you would have the kitchen area all for yourself, as you would in a typical studio.

How is Linthorpe Hall different from other student accommodation?

Please visit our 'Why Choose Us' webpage for details about our superior location (200 metres from Teesside University campus), the multitude of food shops, cafes, bars etc (all within 50-150 metres from Linthorpe Hall entrance), our spacious kitchens and spacious en-suite bedrooms, contents insurance (included in your rent) and much more.
