Everest Base Camp Helicopter flight Tour Route

The tour begins at Kathmandu domestic airport and flies to Lukla.

We'll stop at Lukla for 15 minutes to refuel our chopper and fly to Kala Patthar.

Short ten minutes stop at Kala Patthar to enjoy the views and design of Syangboche Airstrip.

Half an hour break to have delicious breakfast at Hotel Everest View.

Fly to Lukla to refuel and end the trip at Kathmandu airport.

Why land at Kala Patthar instead of Everest Base Camp?

Everest Base Camp is located on the Khumbu glacier. The base camp does not have ample space for landing, especially in the peak seasons when the mountaineers set their tents for the summit push. Likewise, from EBC, Mt. Everest is not visible because the surrounding mountains overlap the view of Everest and hide it.

Kala Patthar offers one of the most fantastic views of Mt. Everest and numerous surrounding peaks along with a heart-warming sunrise. You'll find yourself standing above the clouds. Therefore, we land at Kala Patthar, which is located a few hundred meters above Gorak Shep.

Phase IV: Short feedback session and drive back to the hotel

EBC Helicopter Tour Weather Information and Best Season

You can go on a helicopter tour to Everest Base Camp any time of the year if the weather is clear. Every season has its unique charm and offers distinct views. But if we have to choose the best among all, then we'll say spring (March to April) and autumn (October to November) is the best time of the year to go on the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with landing.

Spring & autumn generally have the most stable weather conditions, which allow us to offer almost daily flights to the base camp Everest. These seasons are packed with travelers, and trails are thriving with diverse vegetation. The climate is just perfect for a trek or helicopter tour.

As the Himalayan helicopter tour is a few-hour program, you can also do it in seasons like summer & winter. However, these are the off seasons for trekking in the Himalayas. There can be delays in flights because of unstable weather.
