Sorbitol is a Polyol commonly found in some fruits and vegetables. It is used in “sugar free” products as an artificial sweetener.
SIBO occurs due to structural changes in the gastrointestinal tract. This results in colonic bacteria invading the small intestine.
Sucrose is a disaccharide commonly known as table sugar. It is broken down in the body by the Sucrase enzyme.
