Lachlan is the Principal Solicitor of Borthwick & Butler and the director of B & B Legal Pty Ltd. Lachlan grew up in the Riverina (specifically, the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area). He worked with a long-established law firm in Griffith New South Wales for a number of years, before making the transition to the Northern Tablelands. 

Lachlan’s role is very broad and includes business and trusts law, leases, commercial law, general litigation, wills, including testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and enduring guardianships, estates, complex rural transfers, and all types of conveyancing.

Lachlan has an interest in agriculture and farming. Lachlan keeps himself busy outside of work being a new Dad.

Stephen has been working as a solicitor with Borthwick & Butler in excess of 40 years and was a principal of the firm for thirty-five years.

He is experienced in a range of diverse legal issues including criminal law, family law, wills, powers of attorney and enduring guardianships, estates, commercial law, general litigation and conveyancing of all types.

Stephen has acted for multiple generations of families throughout the local area, where his advice is regularly sought for a variety of legal issues.

Stephen enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wife Sue, as well as having a swing at golf on the weekend.

Introducing Luke Pedlow, Having worked as a solicitor with the Director of Public Prosecutions, and for several years as an Associate to a District Court Judge, Luke brings a deep understanding of the legal system and to the team at Borthwick & Butler.
A proud local of Glen Innes, Luke's roots in the community run deep. Luke ventured away temporarily to pursue his degree in Law but has returned to his hometown of Glen Innes eager to serve the people of the New England and beyond. With a primary focus on Crime and Family Law, Luke is committed to providing exceptional legal services across a wide range of areas.
Beyond the Court room, Lukes has a passion for Drone Photography and cherishes quality time with friends and family. He confesses to having an addiction to cheese and crackers, believing that Saturdays should be renamed Platter Days and enjoyed surrounded by family, friends, and some cabanossi.

Ian Dun

Ian is a second-generation solicitor who has practiced in and around the local area for in excess of 50 years. Prior to becoming a principal at Borthwick & Butler (along with Avern McIntyre & co Inverell and Liston Legal Glen Innes) he was a partner of the Inverell firm known as Wiltshire Britton & Dun and then practiced as a sole practitioner as Ian G Dun. In 2019, the two long standing local firms merged. 

Ian is one of the most experienced solicitors in the New England region. His clients are mostly long established multi-generational farming families. Ian is now acting for the fourth generation of farmers in some families, having acted for the first generation early on in his career.

Ian’s focus areas mainly consist of complex estate and property law issues.
 
Ian enjoys traveling the countryside with his wife Julie. Ian is a long-standing member of Scouts Australia and a member of Inverell Rotary Club.  

Brodie Verri

Brodie was born and raised in Inverell. She graduated with an Honours in law and a Distinction in Arts from Queensland University of Technology in 2009. She joined Borthwick and Butler in 2014 after practicing in Brisbane and Tenterfield and brings to the firm her experience in Queensland conveyancing and cross-border issues. In addition to her general rural practice including wills, powers of attorney and enduring guardianships along with residential and business conveyancing for both New South Wales and Queensland, Brodie has a special interest in Family & Criminal Law.

As a member of the Australian Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia as well as a panel solicitor for Legal Aid, Brodie has a strong litigation background and has represented clients in many courts across the state.

Brodie says she most enjoys helping people when they are working through hard times, being able to provide guidance and reassurance in a time that is emotional and confusing.

Outside of work, Brodie is a busy mother and wife running a beef cattle farm with husband Matt. Brodie is actively involved with local woman’s and mothers’ networks.

With over 5 years of experience at Borthwick & Butler and a background in civil litigation, she now excels in a diverse range of legal areas; Wills, Estates & Property law. Admitted to practice in 2017, Gabrielle's commitment to her community is evident in the quality service she provides.

Ian was born and raised in Sydney before relocating to Glen Innes in 1980. Previous to studying law, Ian obtained an honours degree in Surveying at the University of New South Wales and worked for the department of main roads. In 1999 he graduated with a degree in law from the University of New England, with honours.
Ian has practices predominately in property and conveyancing, deceased estates and family provision, family law and some criminal law. Ian is an elder at Crossroads Christian Church, Glen Innes and a member of the Glen Innes Lions club. Ian has been involved with Celtic and German festivities for many years through positions in the Caledonian Society and has sung in the Arts Council Choir.
