The Antarctic Circle is a non-commercial forum and resource on historical, literary, bibliographical, artistic and cultural aspects of Antarctica and the South Polar regions. The breadth and quantity of its content expands periodically.

The Antarctic Circle itself—as distinct from this website—is an informal international group of scholars and knowledgeable amateurs interested or involved in non-scientific Antarctic studies.

The Antarctic Circle has benefited from much useful information passed on for inclusion by many people over the years.

Inclusion in The Antarctic Circle of appropriate material from persons active in the above areas is welcomed. For more information please contact the coordinator:

Robert B. Stephenson, Mailing Address: 150 Rivermead Road, Apt. 243, Peterborough, New Hampshire 03458, USA

E-mail: ac@rs41.org [Note: For many years our e-address was antarctic-circle@comcast.net. Recently this has been beset with difficulties and Comcast has been unhelpful at best. Consequently the change to ac@rs41.org. You can also use 5327653@gmail.com.

Previous to 5 September 2017, the site was accessed in excess of 218,756 times as of 10 July 2017. In early September it was discovered that the previous counter was no longer counting or supported. There appears to be no way to set the new counter to start at a higher figure. So add the number now given to ca. 220,000 to come up with total hits since 2 October 1996. Accessed at least many times since 5 September 2017.
