Joseph J. Barrows, MD

Medical Expert Witness in California

The medical profession can be complex and sometimes confusing As a medical director expert, I can use my knowledge and expertise in anesthesiology, capnography, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and ambulatory surgical centers (ASC) to provide a detailed, accurate and thorough evaluation of medical records referenced from the medical literature by using simple analogies to explain complex medical terminology. As an experienced anesthesiology medical expert witness, I am capable of opining on the standard of care, evaluating cases for merit, providing a second opinion, and reviewing general anesthesiology medical malpractice cases and or Ambulatory surgical center cases for either plaintiff or defense.

Please to not hesitate to contact me at any time as I am always available. My CV and fee schedule are available upon request. I complete most case reviews within a week and will prove to be an asset to your team.

“I’m definitely going to contact all the Medical Malpractice firms I know and tell them how awesome my experience was with you and that they should use you in the future”.

“Doctors aren’t quick to return phone calls or emails, but you have been great. So, I put you into my database with notes reflecting that. I will definitely be passing your name around to my other attorneys in the future when we need the next anesthesia expert”

About

The path to success is never a straight line. And my path exemplifies this statement. Becoming a doctor seemed like an unobtainable goal growing up in a family that did not emphasize a college education. After high school I began working in construction and eventually started my own contracting business. But over time I began to think about my future and where I would be in 10 years and I was not happy with what I came up with. So, I decided to do something about it. I started taking classes at my local community college at night while working construction during the day. After completing my associates degree, I transferred to a four-year university to complete my bachelor’s degree. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I worked at night in order to finance my education. After college, I attended medical school and went onto residency. Ultimately, I completed 12 years of higher education despite being the first in my family to attend college. Today, I could not be prouder of my accomplishments and encourage younger students to never settle for anything but their best.
